The ENGAGE project is researching the potential of social innovations for the successful and inclusive implementation of the energy transition. The goals and activities for the remaining six months of the project were discussed at the partner meeting in Berlin.
The energy transition can only succeed if we work together – as demonstrated by countless participatory projects in Germany, from energy communities and energy consultancies to single citizen power plants. The ENGAGE project’s Energiewende-O-Mat, published in June 2023, presents these initiatives and brings them together with interested citizens.
Josef Baur, Managing Director of eueco, reports: “The Energiewende-O-Mat contains many socially innovative projects and organisations that we support to increase visibility. Over the past few months, we have continued to fill the project database and enhance its user-friendliness. Even beyond the official project period, we aim to expand the Energiewende-O-Mat and introduce citizens to exciting projects.”
Following the first successful innovation workshop last year, ENGAGE is now offering further webinars and workshops focusing on the activation of citizens and the transdisciplinary development of social innovations in the energy transition.
Janina Kosel, from the Bündnis Bürgerenergie e.V., invites you to take part: “Constantly changing political conditions are a good breeding ground for innovation. Simultaneously, this places greater demands on developers. Exchange and a different perspective are valuable in the process of developing new ideas. Let’s be innovative together and come to the innovation workshop on April 12, 2024, in Kreuzberg, Berlin!”
If you would like to register for the next innovation workshop, you can do so here:
In addition to the innovation workshops, a webinar on gender- and socially just citizen participation will be held on April 8, 2024 at 1 p.m. Registration for the webinar is now open.
Until the end of the project, the researchers in the ENGAGE consortium are working on a study on the potential of social innovations for the electricity transition. The research results will be presented and discussed with experts at the final conference on September 13, 2024 in Berlin-Mitte.
