Decarbonizing transport
The transport sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. In order to achieve the climate targets, a fundamental change towards sustainable mobility solutions is required. This includes the further development of public transport systems, the promotion of active mobility and the integration of new technologies such as electromobility and automated vehicles.
Our offer
The IKEM supports local authorities, companies and politicians in developing pioneering mobility strategies. We analyze existing transport systems, evaluate the potential of new technologies and develop concepts that meet the requirements of cities and regions. Our services include mobility concepts, feasibility studies, the creation of guidelines for the administration, the involvement of stakeholders and the scientific support of pilot projects.
Analysis of existing transportation systems
We examine the performance, weak points and climate impact of existing mobility structures.
Integration of new technologies
We evaluate the use of electromobility, autonomous driving and digital traffic control and develop strategies for their implementation.
Concept development
Our team creates customized concepts that are tailored to the needs of cities, regions or specific target groups.
Support for pilot projects
We support the planning, implementation and evaluation of pilot projects, for example in the areas of bicycle traffic, car sharing or multimodal transport systems.
