Marktplatz Halle Saale

Project

The project Sustainable Transformation of the city of Halle (STARK) is intended to help initiate investment projects under the Structural Strengthening of Coal Regions Act while promoting the transformation to a greener and more sustainable city. The project, which is funded by the STARK federal program, is managed by PROJECTUM Steuerungsgesellschaft mbH. IKEM is responsible as a subcontractor in this project for the accompanying scientific concept. This concept aims to use scientific methods to accompany and evaluate the investment measures initiated in the city of Halle (Saale) to shape the transformation process in the region, such as the establishment of a green industrial and business park. The accompanying research includes a balancing of CO2 emissions through the GreenCast tool developed in-house and qualitative analysis, thus enabling a holistic project evaluation. The results of the concurrent scientific research form the basis for deriving recommendations for action to optimize the projects and are incorporated into ongoing project consulting.
