For the eWayBW II practical project, IKEM is determining suitable framework conditions for commercial network operation for overhead line trucks.
The eHighway, an electric road system that supplies trucks with electricity via overhead lines while driving, is a concept for decarbonizing freight transport on the road. Together with its partners, Netze BW has been working on the eWayBW and eWayBW II pilot projects since 2017, that are aimed at testing and further developing the eHighway system in practice.
As part of a subcontract for the accompanying research of the project, IKEM is investigating economic and regulatory factors that enable and promote the successful operationalization of a commercial overhead line network operation.
