Project

Public participation in the energy transition can accelerate the transformation of the energy system. The research project ENGAGE examines the potential for social innovation to facilitate a successful and inclusive transition. ENGAGE aims to expand participation in the energy transition by facilitating citizens’ social or financial involvement in energy projects and by promoting the development of new social innovations. For this purpose, the specially developed Energiewende-O-Mat will become Germany’s central contact point and interactive decision-making tool for interested citizens who want to get involved in an energy transition project based on their geographical, technological and financial needs or preferences.
