Especially in urban contexts and large housing complexes, not all residents have permanent and secure access to private parking spaces with charging facilities (e.g. in underground parking). In order to make electromobility accessible and attractive to this user group, the state of Berlin is having so-called Mobile-Metering-Charging-Facilities (e.g., charging points at streetlights) installed and investigated for their transport and economic potential in the ElMobile-Berlin-AMLAB project.

For the project, IKEM conducts a comparative analysis of the use of mobile metering charging points and the classic “be emobil” charging points. For this purpose, the data is evaluated on the basis of different, predefined parameters, using statistical and cartographic methods. The different spatial usage patterns of the charging infrastructure can then be used for the target-oriented expansion of the publicly accessible charging infrastructure.
