EnPowerClimate

With a training program for energy managers, the EnPowerClimate project supports the establishment of climate and energy management in municipalities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Projekt

Currently, most of the municipalities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia either do not have a targeted climate and energy management (CEM) or they are not optimally supported in implementation. Despite strong coordination efforts by the EU, political decision-makers at national level and the Covenant of Mayors Initiative, local authorities lack the knowledge, capacity, political commitment and general support to help them design and implement an effective CEM.

With a training program for energy managers, the EnPowerClimate project supports the establishment of effective climate and energy management in municipalities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These municipalities should be enabled to identify their energy and climate-related needs and to develop municipal strategies and action plans. They will receive important input in order to integrate this new knowledge and skills into the design and implementation of your energy and climate plans.

Impact

The main outputs of the project are:

  1. Delivering Climate and Energy Capacity Training Program for energy managers of Czechia and Slovakia.
  2. Establishment of Climate and Energy Management Network, which runs personal exchanges, study trips and peer reviews of energy management in municipalities of Czechia and Slovakia.
  3. Show cases of implementation of Climate and Energy management in 6 municipalities of Slovakia and Czechia.
