Roman Weidinger is a doctoral candidate at the Research Academy and was a Senior Research Associate at IKEM until July 2023.
He studied law at the University of Muenster, the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain and the Humboldt University of Berlin with a focus on legislation and legal policy. His research at IKEM focused on energy and environmental law, especially planning law, tax law and questions regarding the acceptance of public policies. In July 2023, he submitted his dissertation thesis entitled “Bedarfsplanung und Energiewende – Grundlagen, Rechtsrahmen und Ausblick mit Fokus auf Windenergieanlagen an Land” to Prof. Dr. Michael Rodi at the University of Greifswald (second examiner Prof. Dr. Schlacke).
Roman Weidinger is currently a legal trainee at the Berlin Court of Appeal and a Research Associate in the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group.
