Prof. Dr. Susanne Stoll-Kleemann is Chair and Professor of Sustainability Science and Applied Geography at the University of Greifswald. She heads the master’s program “Sustainability Geography” there. Her research focuses on climate-responsive behavior and the conditions for a true socio-ecological transformation at the intersection of individual behavior and political-economic frameworks. She leads the cluster “Sustainability” at the IFZO (Interdisciplinary Research Center Baltic Sea Region) with the focus on “Ocean Literacy and Behavior Change” as well as other third-party funded projects, among others on biodiversity-appropriate agriculture in the Baltic Sea Region.
She previously conducted research on the psychology of climate-responsive behavior at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and ETH Zurich. Dr. Susanne Stoll-Kleemann received her doctorate in 1999 from the Technical University of Berlin on the topic of “Acceptance Problems in Nature Conservation” and habilitated in 2006 at the Humboldt University of Berlin on the topic of “Governance of Biodiversity”.
