Dr. Friedrich Hagemeyer-Wilhelm is one of the founders of IKEM and was a long-standing member of the board. He has been a member of the IKEM Advisory Board since leaving the Board in July 2024.
He studied physics at the University of Greifswald and earned his doctorate in the sociology of scientific knowledge at Freie Universität and Technische Universität Berlin.
Since 1979 he has worked in various business units of Siemens AG, until 1992 as development manager, plant manager and business manager for text terminals, printers and scanners. From 1992–2006 he was responsible in the Mobility Group for the infrastructure businesses of control technology worldwide, mass transit worldwide and Deutsche Bahn.
From 1996–1998, he was Vice President of the European standardization organization CENELEC, and from 2006 to 2009, he was spokesman for the European rail industry for a uniform new European rail safety technology.
He established the Greifswald University Club in 2010 and serves as it’s president since then.
In March 2023, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his commitment to the promotion and visibility of applied research.
