Call for Papers – Second Doctoral Seminar of the IKEM Research Academy

Hydrogen in the Energy Transition

The IKEM Research Academy, founded in 2020, aims to advance fundamental research, scientific networking and the promotion of young talent in interdisciplinary climate protection research, focusing on law. In March 2021, the IKEM Research Academy held its first doctoral seminar, which explored legal issues associated with the infrastructure of the energy transition. The upcoming seminar will focus on hydrogen in the energy transition.

This is connected to a wide range of topics, from the production to the transportation to the use of hydrogen. All of these aspects raise jurisprudential questions, which can be considered from two different perspectives – chronologically (de lege lata, de lege ferenda) and systemically (national, European and global).

This seminar aims to bring together PhD students who are addressing these questions as part of their doctoral projects. It offers an opportunity for students to present their projects to like-minded people and and discuss relevant topics in a supportive environment. At the end of the seminar, an external researcher will provide an interdisciplinary jurisprudential lecture to draw conclusions from the day’s discussions.

The seminar will be held online.

If you are interested in participating, please register here by 16 February 2022. We expressly encourage you to present your doctoral project as part of the seminar. If you wish to present a project, please send a short abstract (max. one page) to forschungsakademie@ikem.de by 14 February 2022.
