This data protection policy is intended to inform the users of this website about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility e.V., Magazinstrasse 15-16, 10179 Berlin, Germany (website operator). This data protection declaration applies to the website operator’s websites, which can be accessed under the domain ikem.de and its subdomains (e.g. academy.ikem.de, crm.ikem.de).

The website operator takes your data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with legal regulations. Since changes to this data protection declaration may be made due to new technologies and the constant further development of this website, we recommend that you read the data protection declaration again at regular intervals.

Access data

One.com

We, the website operator and our provider (One.com), collect access data and collect this information on our website. This is based on our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. GDPR). The statistical data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to you as a visitor. The following data is logged:

Google Analytics

Due to our legitimate interests, this website uses the service “Google Analytics” for the optimization and analysis of our online offer in terms of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO the service “Google Analytics”, which is offered by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). The service (Google Analytics) uses “cookies” – text files that are stored on your terminal device. The information collected by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

IP anonymization is used on this website. The IP address of the user is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area and in the other contracting states of the agreement. Only in individual cases is the IP address initially transmitted unabbreviated to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. This shortening eliminates the personal reference of your IP address. The user’s IP address transmitted by the browser is not combined with other data stored by Google.

As part of the agreement on the order data agreement, which we as website operators have concluded with Google Inc., the latter uses the information collected to create an evaluation of website use and website activity and provides services associated with internet use.

The data collected by Google on our behalf is used to evaluate the use of our online offer by individual users, e.g. to create reports on website activity in order to improve our online offer.

Cookies

This website uses cookies, which are transferred to the user’s browser either from our server or the third-party server. Cookies are small files that are stored on your device. Your browser accesses these files. Some cookies are essential for the functionality of this website. In addition, the use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website. When you visit this website for the first time, you will be informed of the use of cookies. If you continue to use the website, we will assume your consent. If you have a WordPress account and log in to this website, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close the browser. When you log in, we will set up some cookies to save your login information and display options. Login cookies expire after two days and cookies for the display options after one year. If you select “Stay signed in” when registering, your registration will be maintained for two weeks. When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in the browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data and only refers to the post ID of the article that was edited. The cookie expires after one day.

Collection and processing of personal data

The website operator collects, uses and passes on your personal data only if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the data being collected. Personal data includes all information that is used to identify your person and which can be traced back to you – for example your name, your e-mail address and telephone number. You can also visit this website without providing any personal information. In order to improve our online experience, however, we save your access data on this website (without personal reference) (see above). Due to the anonymization of the data, it is not possible for us to draw conclusions about your person.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information that they provide in their user profiles. All users can view, change or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also view and change this information.

Handling of contact details

If you get in touch with us as the through the contact options offered (e.g. via the contact form or by e-mail), your details will be saved by us so that they can be used to process and answer your request. In addition, your details will be forwarded internally to the persons responsible for your request. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

CiviCRM

IKEM uses the open source software CiviCRM to store and process personal data of companies and persons with whom it is in contact (e.g. association members, members of the committees, business and project partners, stakeholders, newsletter subscribers, etc.). The data stored and processed in the database include personal data (e.g. names, private and business addresses, private and business e-mail addresses, private and business telephone numbers, etc.) as well as information on communication preferences, participation in events and communication activities between the contact and IKEM. The data is primarily used for internal purposes (address database) but also for external communication (e.g. newsletter, mailing of letters) and the organization of events.

The CiviCRM database is hosted on a server ordered by IKEM. Only employees of IKEM have access to the data of companies and individuals. Your data will not be passed on to third parties.

Contact and application forms

Users of this website have the opportunity to register via a Contact- and Application forms to contact IKEM. Alternatively, users can also send an email to info@ikem.de (general inquiries) or to jobs@ikem.de (Applications) Contact IKEM

The contact and application forms were created with the WordPress plugin Contact Form 7. They collect and process the following personal data:

  • Surname
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • The message you entered and the data it contains
  • The documents you have uploaded (e.g. curriculum vitae) and the data contained therein
  • Time of contact

By submitting the contact and application form, you consent to the data processing. Your data will not be saved on the server but only sent by email to the responsible departments at IKEM. If necessary, your details will be forwarded internally to the responsible employees.

You can have your personal inquiry / application deleted at any time by sending an email to IKEM (see below for contact details). Otherwise, your personal application data will usually be deleted within 6 months after the application process has been completed. This does not apply if statutory provisions prevent deletion or if further storage is necessary for the purpose of providing evidence.

To prevent improper use of the forms, IKEM uses the reCAPTCHA service from Google Inc. reCAPTCHA transmits your IP address and any other required data (but not your entered message or your application data) to Google. Newsletter subscription

The website operator offers you a Newsletter in which he regularly informs you about current developments in the areas of climate protection and energy as well as questions of sustainable mobility. This includes, for example, new publications, event announcements, job advertisements and other services offered by the institute.

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, you must provide a valid email address. You will then receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. You will only receive our newsletter once this double opt-in process has been completed.

Your e-mail address, the personal data you provided and other information, such as opening rates and clicked links, are saved and processed. This serves exclusively to optimize the contents. We do not pass this data on to third parties. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you agree to receive the newsletter and the procedures explained.

The newsletter is sent via the open source tool CiviCRM ( https://crm.ikem.de/ ). The data is stored and processed on our servers. They will not be passed on to third parties. For more information on CiviCRM, visit civicrm.org .

Revocation and termination: You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time and thus cancel the newsletter subscription. Your subscription to the newsletter will then expire. At the end of each newsletter you will find the link to cancel your subscription.

User rights

As a user, you have the right to request free information about which personal data has been stored about you. You also have the right to correct incorrect data and to restrict the processing or deletion of your personal data. If you assume that your data has been processed unlawfully, you can submit a complaint to the responsible supervisory authority.

Deletion of data

If your request does not conflict with a legal obligation to store data (e.g. data retention), you have the right to have your data deleted. Data stored by us will be deleted if they are no longer required for their intended purpose and there are no statutory retention periods. If deletion cannot be carried out because the data is required for permissible legal purposes, data processing will be restricted. In this case, the data will be blocked and not processed for other purposes.

Right to object

Users of this website can make use of their right of objection and object to the processing of their personal data at any time.
