When it comes to moving goods, trucks are currently the most popular choice: The total capacity of freight transport on German roads has doubled over the last three decades and it now accounts for about three quarters of all freight transport.
This development makes commercial road vehicles a backbone of our economic system but also one of the biggest emitters of greenhouse gases in transport. Undoubtedly, there’s an urgent need for action: Since there has hardly been any reduction in emissions until now, the sector must take major steps towards decarbonisation in the next few years – this is the only way to ensure compliance with current climate protection targets.
Please join us at the IKEM Annual Conference 2023 to discuss strategies for decarbonising road freight transport. We are looking forward to engaging keynotes by experts including Prof. Dr. Meike Jipp (DLR), Andrea Schoen (smart freight centre), Prof. Dr. Matthias Knauff (University of Jena), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Lehmann (FH Erfurt) and Alexander Thal (NOW).
The event will take place on 19 October from 5 p.m. at IKEM (Magazinstr. 15-16, 10179 Berlin-Mitte). Participation is free of charge. You can register now via our online form.
We look forward to welcoming you at IKEM!
